  • Overview

    The Production and Continuous Improvement Manager will manage all aspects of production and direct labor, as well as identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to deliver project cost, quality and time objectives established by the Plant Manager.


    Provides support and direction to the Production Supervisors.  Additionally:

    • Apply employee manual rules and regulations.
    • Maintain a qualified direct labor and supervision work force.
    • Support a clean and orderly work environment and overall housekeeping.
    • Set a high standard of social behavior through education and by example.
    • MOS: PPMH, Scrap, Direct Labor and Safety.
    • Other duties and project responsibilities as assigned.
    • Develop and tracking of key issues for critical operations as well as establish an accountability forum.
    • Work with supervisors on production reporting and scrap tracking
    • Monitor work according to Safety practices & develop (along with Safety personnel) new safety protocols/processes/procedures (SWP/JSA), perform JSAs where necessary.
    • Work with scheduling and production leaders to develop labor utilization system based on customer demand, inventory and resources.
    • Develop staff training system (matrix). Job tasking and standard work as well as cross training of positions, documented & posted.
    • Work with Quality management on developing system to track pertinent quality parameters to ensure customer satisfaction (VOC, voice of the customer)
    • Develop a KPI board for the plant to include Safety, Quality, Delivery, Customer and Morale metrics.
    • Support & help develop as well as implement all long term strategies on the manufacturing floor.
    • Establish and coordinate a CI (Continuous Improvement) program.
    • Ensure compliance to standard processes and established safety program requirements.
    • Value Stream mapping for the processes, look to reduce non value added activities.
    • Lead FMEA events on equipment
    • Other duties and project responsibilities as assigned.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management or related degree.
    • Proven experience with Six Sigma, Kaizen and other lean methodologies.
    • Requires strong communication, problem solving, and leadership skills.
    • 5+ years of experience in production and continuous improvement roles.
