  • Overview

    The MP & L Manager maintains optimum levels of inventory and required materials needed to support manufacturing and shipping activities. This position requires meeting customer delivery requirements while considering customer specific requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Control stock levels of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to minimize total inventory levels while still meeting orders, production schedules, forecasts and customer/vendor delivery requirements
    • Ensure accurate end-of-the-month inventory reporting. Coordinate with manufacturing and sales areas the timely movement of materials, material identification, shop order processing, and ensure optimum inventory levels
    • Prioritize, schedule, delegate, and directly supervise inventory control functions to maintain optimum levels of inventory and required materials needed to support manufacturing and shipping activities
    • Participate on cross-functional teams to address/resolve technological, financial, manufacturing problems, ensure continuous on-going improvement of processes, and quality
    • Ensures that cycle counts are performed to verify actual against recorded inventory levels, making adjustments as needed
    • Report Monthly metrics in Management Review and produce necessary corrective actions when necessary (by checking Ford SIMS or Chrysler SMART systems)
    • Carry out supervisory responsibilities for the entire MP&L department in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
    • Assist warehousing with maintaining inventory levels that optimize storage space.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety, housekeeping, work rules, and environmental regulations
    • Responsible for warehouse activities (on and off site as required)
    • Awareness of TS16949 and ISO 14001 standards
    • Other Duties as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business with an emphasis on Supply Chain Management along with 5-8 years of related experience
    • APICS Certification is preferred
    • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
    • Must have experience with MRP/ERP, QAD experience is a plus
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Must demonstrate attention to detail
    • Ability to multi-task with ease
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, volume, and apply concepts of basic algebra
